Sue Mack is a tourist in her own backyard. I'm enjoying my free time making memories, supporting causes, walking and exercising, and being a real close mom and grandma.

Walking the Brooklyn bridge with Ms. Mack's 2nd grade
Today we started out in the north Bronx (where we live)
and drove to the South Bronx (where Ms. Mack teaches) and went on a class trip with 45+ second graders. First we walked to the Brook avenue #6 subway train toward Brooklyn Bridge. 40 minutes later we all safely emerged from the underground in Manhattan where we crossed the street and headed for the Brooklyn Bridge.... Lots of people, and things to look at. The walkway was narrowed due to construction, but the class stayed in rows of two, holding their partners hands. Loads of tourists also walking, and bicycles whizzed by in the adjacent lane. The views were great on this sunny breezy adventure.
We exited the bridge in Brooklyn and descended on the park near cadman plaza, where we enjoyed our picnic lunches, played hide & seek, giant steps, used the bathroom facilities, and then one hour later did the whole trip in reverse!!
We arrived back at school around 2:30pm. Kudos to all the children, teachers, and parents who worked so well together to make sure all went well.
And the mom who told me how much her son liked ms. Mack. That made my day.
And Then we came home.
Soooooooo tired.

Central Park Rambling
A perfect day for exploring the park
Starting at Columbus circle
Public art map - @elephant
To the Dairy- love the cell phone audio tour
The Elms
The Delacorte pavilion fountain
Tulips alive at the boathouse.
The Ramble- natural oasis
Quiet zone - read my Sunday times for 90 minutes in the shade
And finally stopping at the Met - this time an audio tour
I was just informed no pix at the stein collection. But I had already snapped this.
11,109 steps and I enjoyed a nice veggie dinner at GOBU at 81st & 3rd.
A beautiful day in the 'hood.
