Ouch that hurts...

Bringing Maureen & Dennis' shower gifts to their new apartment in Astoria yesterday. I missed the step down into the living room from the outdoor patio and fell hard. Applied ice right away to right knee and left foot instep, and today is swollen- have a picture,but too gross to post.
Will be elevating legs today instead of going to Foley Square concert with Joan Baez for Occupy wall street.
Will read Michael moore's new book instead.

Snug Harbor day with friends... & Sat night date with the guys... Glenn. & Reid

Lovely to walk through my old workplace and most unique cultural center, Snug Harbor.  It was a beautiful fall day, and the familiar trails seemed the same.  Some folks were wandering around, and I actually wanted to give them some directions.
The much anticipated and often slandered Tuscan Garden looked enchanting. 
I can't believe I'm in Staten Island. 


Fall back indeed...a wonderful night with grandson & son while Karen goes to bachelorette party.



He is a delicious date.... Mmmm... Early to bed and early to rise.....

Dog sitting Brisztow Jones

This morning was cold and windy....brrr, and the sun was just coming up as I walked Brisztow. Yesterday we visited a couple of dog runs near our house. One was too empty



and one was filled with 40 mostly large dogs.



After 20 minutes of sniffing, BJ was ready to walk with me. So we toured the Riverdale neighborhood and only came back when the sun was setting.



Being a grandma means enjoying quality time... And then returning her home on Saturday.

Van Cortlandt House Museum

An old stone house right at the park entrance beckons me to visit on my walk today.






George Washington did sleep here.... Really.
A school tour was enjoying their visit and a guide in full period dress helped them understand our colonial era.

Maybe I'll volunteer to be a docent??
