Subject: Holiday greeting from Sue & George
Dear friends near and away,
From our hearts but not from the letter carrier. Email is just easier this year.
We are grateful to our extended circle of friends from Staten Island, from Binghamton, from Bronx, and the greater progressive movement! Let's all keep in touch.
................................................................
SEASONS GREETING FROM SUE & GEORGE....
WE HAVE MOVED AGAIN! - After 31 years in Staten Island, and 4+ years in BinghamtonNY, and 2 years in the Bronx, we are now living in YONKERS. Our new address is 1085 Warburton Avenue apt. 305 Yonkers, NY 10701. We have a cozy co-op apartment with a view of the Hudson River and the New Jersey Palisades, a covered garage downstairs, an outdoor pool, and an on site gym. Our emails and phone are the same. We live right near the Greystone stop on the Metro North Railroad, so come for a visit when you’re in town. Grandson Reid McAnanama celebrated his second birthday with lots of little friends to join in the arty festivities. We love being with him and babysitting, and when we can’t, we’re thankful for seeing the changing pictures and videos of him online http://lilmanbigcity.tumblr.com/.

Maureen and Dennis Connelly, Eileen & Charles Giglia, and Glenn & Karen McAnanama are all well, employed, and living productive lives. Congrats to Dennis for running the Albany NY marathon in under 4 hours. This summer we so enjoyed attending the weddings of cousins Brian & Megan Cohen and longtime friend Catherine Signoriello to Jeff Miller. Niece Suzy McAnanama is engaged toSimon Brereton and we celebrated heartily with family and friends at a downtown bar.George turned 65 this year, and we had a big surprise party for him at a Bronx bar. New babies in the family are a special joy, and we congratulate cousinsTara & Joe McEvoy on the birth of their adorable daughter Liliana Kate; and Josh & Melinda Napolitano on the birth of their 3rd child - Zoee. We hope to meet her on an upcoming trip to Florida.
This year brought health and life challenges to several friends and family, and we share their ups and downs. We are thankful for the love and friendship of those who died this year. We will cherish the memories from a good long life, but still left us too soon, of – Aunt Dorothy Brisach; mom to Barbara McGorman, and Pauline Fogelsanger, mom to Anne Beattie Moss. We were able to attend their wakes, and both were spirited, active women who were surrounded by love. Words cannot convey our sadness at the death of our beautiful cousin, Kerry McGorman who battled her illness until the end. Cousin Barbara is always in our thoughts as she grieves her mom and daughter. Our Bronx neighbor and good friend Pete Foley died very suddenly this summer, and we mourned him with hundreds of TWU co-workers and friends, and of course his widow, Ger Cox.
Climate change came home this year to our area with Super Storm Sandy. We were high and dry, and powered, but so many hundreds of thousands of people were hit hard. Some were terribly inconvenienced, and others lost everything. We hope for fairness and good government policy going forward. We continue to vigil for an end to war with Concerned Families of Westchester on Saturdays, and despite the election outcome, there is so much that needs changing. A better world is possible! As we plan for some travel in our future, we are reminded of these words from a Unitarian minister……..
“We already possess all the gifts we need. We’ve already received our presents, Ears to hear music, Eyes to behold lights, and Hands to build true peace on earth and to hold each other tight in love.” May whatever holiday you celebrate bring you JOY!
Peace & Love,
Susan & George
